UAW union just ordered 6,800 workers to strike a massive Ram truck facility New York (CNN) — The United Auto Workers union sent 6,800 Stellantis employees to the picket line Monday morning in a surprise, targeted strike at the company’s Ram truck facility.The Sterling Heights Assembly Plant is Stellantis’ “largest plant and biggest moneymaker,” UAW said in a statement Monday. The union said the company, which makes vehicles under the Dodge, Ram, Jeep and Chrysler brands, has “the worst proposal on the table” in its negotiations on pay, converting temporary workers to full time and cost-of-living adjustments.“Despite having the highest revenue, … the highest profit margins, and the most cash in reserve, Stellantis lags behind both Ford and General Motors in addressing the demands of their UAW workforce,” the UAW said.This is the second “surprise” targeted strike in two weeks by the UAW. Police investigating fatal plunge from building in Boston’s Financial District Boston Police are at the scene of a fatal plunge from a building in the Financial District where a victim is dead after falling an unknown number of stories.Police officials said a call reporting the fall at 100 Summer Street  came in at 7:54 a.m. The victim in fall was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a Boston Police spokesperson.Homicide detectives have been requested and are responding to the investigation, according to police.According to reports, the victim was a window washer at work at the buidling.Federal investigators with the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, OSHA, have also been notified, according to Boston Police.– Developing
