This Sunday at 5 p.m., Theda Person will celebrate the memory of her son at the waterfall fountain in the World's Fair Pavilion. Christian has been missing for 20 years, and sadly, he has never been found. Today is the actual date that he went missing. He was born with a genetic disorder that required care and medicine. Dear Amy: I am 50, and my husband of 28 years is 62.We recently moved to a new country for his job. Our kids are attending university in another country. This has been a huge change for me as I have no kids at home to look after. I honestly don’t know what to do.Should I return to my home country and start my life over?I can’t speak to him or look him in the eyes because it hurts me so much.To add to the misery, we are having his sisters visit soon for a two-week stay.I feel like my spirit is crushed.— Crushed WomanDear Crushed: Your husband can explain his actions — he just doesn’t want to. A baby took a seat in the Italian parliament for the first time ever on Wednesday (7 June), when lawmaker Gilda Sportiello breastfed her son Federico in the Chamber of Deputies, triggering a round of applause from fellow members. The event would be more commonplace in many countries, but was underlined by the acting lower-house speaker in traditionally male-dominated Italy."It's the first time, with the backing of all parties. Best wishes to Federico for a long, free, and peaceful life," said Giorgio Mule as he chaired the parliamentary session."Now we'll speak quietly."In November last year a parliamentary rules panel gave the go-ahead to women lawmakers to enter the chamber with their children and breastfeed them up to the age of one."Too many women stop breastfeeding ahead of time, not by choice, but rather because they are forced to return to the workplace," said Sportiello, from the left-leaning 5-Star Movement.Giorgia Meloni took office in October as Italy's first woman prime m...

By Lindsey Bahr | Associated PressA high school gym teacher grappling with her sexual identity is challenged on both a micro and macro level in 1988 England in ” Blue Jean,” a quietly complex portrait of compartmentalization and self-actualization.In October 1987, British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher gave a speech in which she bemoaned the state of education and said that “Children who need to be taught to respect traditional moral values are being taught that they have an inalienable right to be gay.” This was just part of her critique of the state of education and the agenda of “extremist teachers” pushing “political slogans” and “anti-racist mathematics” who are cheating children out of a “sound start in life.” By May of 1988, a law was passed (Section 28) that would “prohibit the promotion of homosexuality” and would remain in effect in some form until 2003.
