BALTIMORE (AP) — The Archdiocese of Baltimore will end religious services at one of the city’s Catholic churches after its longtime pastor was recently suspended from ministry because he admitted to making a payment several years ago to settle sexual harassment allegations.Last month, Father Paschal Morlino was dismissed from his position at St. Benedict Church in southwest Baltimore, where he served for nearly 40 years and became known for his efforts to help residents of poor neighborhoods surrounding the church.Few details about the 2018 complaint against Morlino have been released. Church officials have said they regarded “alleged sexual harassment of an adult man.” The complainant died in 2020 and a lawyer representing him in the case has declined to comment citing a non-disclosure agreement.Officials with the archdiocese also said in a statement Saturday that they are investigating another complaint against Morlino involving sexual abuse of a minor. DENVER (KDVR) -- A suspended Aurora Police officer has been acquitted of charges in the 2019 death of Elijah McClain, a 23-year-old Black man who died after he was pinned with a carotid hold by officers and injected with a potent sedative by paramedics.Nathan Woodyard was charged with and found not guilty of reckless manslaughter and the lesser included charge of criminally negligent homicide after being on trial for McClain's death. The trial included two and a half weeks of testimony.A jury began deliberations just after 1 p.m. on Friday. DENVER (KDVR) -- A now-former Loveland Police officer was arrested and accused of sexually assaulting a 15-year-old at a park while on duty.Loveland Police Chief Tim Doran announced the arrest at a press conference Monday.The officer, identified as 28-year-old Dylan Miller, was fired from the department after his arrest Monday. He had been placed on administrative leave during the investigation, according to Doran.Miller had been with the Loveland Police Department since 2022. Before that, he was employed with the Durango Police Department from 2020 through 2022. DENVER (KDVR) – The Denver Police Department is investigating a shooting that took place at East 33rd Avenue and Hudson Street in the Park Hill neighborhood Sunday morning. Police said they received a call about the shooting at 3:09 a.m.Police said the shooting happened at an after-hours club in a building that belonged to Hell's Lovers Motorcycle Club.There was evidence that multiple guns were fired in the incident, according to police, as well as evidence of gunfire outside of the club. A small dog was rescued from a dumpster behind a Tamarac restaurant, leading a local animal rescue organization to step in and take action. The dog was found behind a La Granja restaurant at 5701 N University Drive, Monday. Hernando Delgado rescued the dog from the dumpster. “When I went and noticed, there’s a lot of garbage right here, and I see the dog there, so I try and grab it,” Delgado said. “The dog was so scared there.
